The driveway security posts is an ideal solution to improve the safety and security around the driveway , protecting your property from unnecessary intrusion, damage or theft. They are designed to physically withstand huge forces, provide a strong barrier to your property, are durable, easy to operate, and durable under all conditions.
Most driveway safety posts are located at the entrance of the driveway , just in front of or behind the location where the vehicle is usually parked. They are mainly used in residential driveways, but can also be used in various other types of public or private environments, including:
Warehouse and factory
Commercial or company parking lot
Municipal facilities, such as a police station or parliament building
Retail parks, shopping centers and other public places
Although there are various possible settings, driveway safety and parking bollards tend to be the most used in residential environments due to their cost and convenience. At Ruisijie, we have driveway safety posts of various sizes and lengths. Most of them are designed for manual operation and include many types, including telescopic, lifting and bolted bollards.

The main benefits of driveway safety posts
Create a strong physical barrier to improve security around your property
All types of driveway safety posts are excellent at significantly improving the safety of your property, making it more difficult for thieves to steal a car, trailer or caravan. Likewise, they reduce the risk of theft in your home by bringing the escape vehicle closer to your property, thereby increasing the risk of potential thieves being caught. For most of these people, the visual deterrence of a driveway safety station alone is usually sufficient to protect your home from criminals.
Prevent intrusion into your property due to unauthorized parking or turning
Not every invasion of your property is so malicious, but these can be very annoying and inconvenient. Families near busy retail centers or shopping areas often find their space is being used by other unauthorized drivers, and sometimes they want to save on parking fees. Other residents may find that their parking area is often used by other drivers (or even neighbors) to turn around or transfer themselves to a difficult place, which can be equally annoying and sometimes dangerous.
Thankfully, driveway security bollards can be used to demarcate your own parking spaces, and prevent use by unauthorised persons or vehicles.
Protect your home from out of control vehicles or harsh driving conditions
Some driveway safety bollards are also used for safety purposes in properties that may have a higher risk of traffic collisions-for example, houses located on difficult bends in roads. In this case, special sturdy options such as bolted bollards can be used to prevent an out-of-control vehicle from colliding with the garden wall or the wall of the house itself.
Types of driveway safety bollards (and how they work)
Most driveway safety bollards are often divided into three categories: retractable, detachable and bolted. Depending on the bollards you are looking for, these bollards can sometimes be specified in various finishes, as well as optional additional features such as brightly colored powder coatings to improve visibility.
Telescopic bollard
Retractable
Cost effective and simple to operate
Variety of heights, diameters and finishes
Standard galvanised finish, with optional powder coating
Telescopic bollards work by lifting vertically from steel pipes installed in underground concrete. Once they are at full height, they are locked in place using the integrated locking system. To lower them again, just unlock them and carefully put them back into the same steel pipe. Then close the steel flap on the exposed top of the bollard so that the system is flush with the ground, making it easy for any vehicles to enter and exit.
Our telescopic bollards can also specify auxiliary lifting functions, reducing the effective operating weight of the column by up to 60%.
Raise the bollard
Removable
Exceptionally cost-effective
Can be supplied in all colours
Choose from galvanised steel or brushed satin stainless steel finish
Under conditions that may not be conducive to digging full-depth foundations, lifting bollards is an ideal choice. This kind of driveway safety posts is located inside the housing, but it is not completely retracted to the ground. You can completely remove the posts so that it can be stored elsewhere.
Their operation method is different from the telescopic column, but it is also simple and easy: to unlock them, just turn the relevant key in the available lock, twist the handle, and then take the product out of the socket. Then put a cover on the remaining opening to make the vehicle pass unimpeded.
Bolt-down bollards
Permanent
Sturdiest of options
Multiple colours available
Though they’re not as commonly used in residential settings as telescopic or lift-out bollards, highly secure bolt-down bollards still have several useful applications. Unlike the other two types of driveway security post, they are not removable, so they’re primarily used for permanently blocking access to a space, either for safety or security purposes. For example, they can be positioned just outside a house’s exterior walls, protecting the occupants by preventing drivers parking up from accidentally reversing or accelerating into it.
They can also be used in high-traffic areas, or on properties situated at sharp bends in the road, protecting the house from drivers who might lose control in adverse weather or other difficult driving conditions.
Which type of driveway security post should you choose?
This is a question our experts are often asked here , and it depends on a number of factors. For many customers, budget is naturally one of the biggest factors, but there are other considerations to take into account too. For example, you need to think about the space you’ll be protecting, and its size and layout. How big are the vehicles that will be coming and going across it, and how often will they need to access the property? The ease and speed with which the bollards can be erected and taken down may therefore form another crucial part of your decision.
